Welcome Natasha Fear, professional ladies golfer to SSM

SSM are pleased to be working with LET professional Natasha Fear,  who is based at the exclusive La Sella Golf Club, close to her hometown of Javea,  Alicante.

Former CCGA student, Natasha Fear, turned professional after many years honing her skills and is striving to reach the top of the ladies professional ranks.

Natasha started her golfing life at the CCGA academy in Spain, attending weekly group coaching sessions. She would always be seen hitting extra shots before and after the classes in order to improve. Although one of the youngest students in the “advanced” class, Natasha gained a reputation as a strong competitor who would be hard to beat.

Entry into the CCGA 9 & 18 Hole events soon produced some excellent results and a handicap that just kept getting lower. Natasha has since competed throughout Spain and the UK in amateur events and now is enjoying applying herself against some of the best Lady Professionals on the LET Access Tour. We continue to follow her progress and look forward to seeing Natasha competing for many years.

Natasha was kind enough to send through her thoughts on her early days as a junior golfer with the CCGA:

I started playing golf purely by chance. When I was 7 my dad showed me an advert in the paper of a guy that was opening a golf school for young kids just 15 minutes away from where I lived and he asked me if I wanted to go and try it.

I was always excited about trying something new so ofcourse I said yes!
We went along and that is where I met Ben and Loretta at the “L’ancora golf school”.

From the 1st time I went I loved it! As golf is seen as quite a serious sport, at that age it is very important to keep it entertaining, with games, challenges, different ways to practice etc and for me, that is exactly what Ben is so good at. Making sure that young kids as well as improving they’re game also enjoyed themselves.

Ben and Loretta always organised and made it possible for us youngsters to play in lots of tournaments which i was always very excited about.
I remember how for a period of time we travelled to a golf course 2 hours away every weekend to play a competition. This has made me very used to travelling (now slightly further distances) from a young age.

One of my fondest memories strangely enough was playing in the heaviest rain I think I’ve ever played in on a par 3 course in a tournament. Before going out on to the course Ben said “anyone who doesn’t want to play put your hands up” no one did so we all went out there in this horrible weather and enjoyed ourselves! To this day I don’t mind playing in the rain, which living in Spain doesn’t happen very often!

Those first few years were very important to me. I went from hitting a ball into a net, to playing 9 holes (I remember I took 83 strokes on my 1st ever round over 9 holes!), to then finally being allowed to play 18 holes.
Now, I am playing as a professional golfer on the LET Access Tour, with an aim to get my full playing card to the ladies European Tour.

I am forever grateful to Ben & Loretta for helping me in those first few years and putting that advert in the paper because without that I probably would never have tried playing golf which has now become my passion as well as my job” Natasha Fear, Professional Golfer.
